The Central Community College men's basketball team headed to Southwestern Community College on Wednesday, February 4th. A recap of the match is below:
CCC traveled to Creston, IA and secured the season series sweep of the Spartans. The Raiders showed a very balanced attack and gritty defensive effort to hold Southwestern to 10 points below their season average and only 35% shooting from the floor. Central controlled the tempo from the opening tip, outscoring the Spartans in both halves. The Raiders' physical presence was the difference-maker, as they dominated the glass with a 40–28 rebounding advantage. While the starters set the tone, CCC's bench provided the knockout punch. Mo Abdalla led all scorers with 18 points, but the trio of Brandon Jarmon (14 pts), Tee Liban (12 pts), and Nevaeh Hawkins (10 pts, 9 reb) proved that Central's depth is no joke. The Raiders silenced the home crowd and secured a convincing 78-61 conference win.
Raiders move to 10-15 and are in action next hosting #6 ranked Ellsworth CC on February 7th.
