The CCC volleyball team had their season home opener on Wednesday afternoon vs the #7 nationally ranked Kirkwood Community College. A recap of the match is below:
The Raiders played Kirkwood extremely tough in the first set, going back and forth with neither team going up by more than 4 points. Towards the end of the period, however, Kirkwood was able to pull away in the right point, winning the first set 25-21. Central was unable to eclipse 14 points in each of the next two sets, with Kirkwood winning them 25-14 and 25-13, giving Kirkwood the 3-0 win. Mallory Dreesen led the team in kills with 8 and Meah Sackett contributed 21 assists. Maleigha Johnson had 16 digs in this one as well.
The CCC Volleyball team moves to 2-2 and is back in action on Friday vs Cowley College at home at 4pm.
