The Central Community College Softball team faced off in the last 2 series of their season vs. DMACC on April 24th and NIACC on April 25th, both away. A recap of both doubleheaders is below:
Game 1: DMACC- 13 Central- 0
In the opening matchup, Central Community College struggled to find momentum in a 13-0 shutout loss against a powerful DMACC offense. Starting pitcher Lextyn Harker took the loss, laboring through 1.1 innings as the Bears built an early double-digit lead. Offensively, the Raiders were held hitless, but Jordyn Trotta and Hannah Dahlke were among those who put the ball in play against a dominant DMACC pitching.
Game 2: DMACC- 21 Central- 1
The Raiders fell 21-1 in a high-scoring affair. Callen Heule started in the circle and was credited with the loss as the DMACC bats produced 19 hits. Trotta stood out as the top batter, recording a hit and the team's lone RBI, while also showing aggressiveness on the paths with a stolen base.
Game 1: NIACC- 11 Central- 4
Central Community College showed toughness in this 11-4 loss, highlighted by a three-run rally in the fifth inning. Dahlke was the offensive star, launching a home run and driving in three of the team's four runs. Starting pitcher Harker took the loss after three innings of work, while Logan Rainforth provided solid relief and contributed two hits at the plate.
Game 2: NIACC- 7 Central- 1
The final game of the set was a more defensive battle, with the Raiders falling 7-1 despite out-hitting the Trojans for much of the early frames. Rainforth led the way at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base to set the table for the offense. Heule pitched a complete game in the losing effort, keeping CCC competitive by striking out three and navigating through six innings of work.
Head Coach Caitlin Simon had this to say about the season as a whole, "Obviously not the way we wanted things to end on the field, but this group showed up every day and competed through all the highs and lows. I'm incredibly proud of who they are and how they represented our program. With all eight freshmen returning and now having that conference experience under their belt, we have a clear understanding of what it takes—and we're excited to take that next step forward. We also want to thank our seven sophomores and their families for the unwavering support over the past two years. They've made a lasting impact on our program, and they will truly be missed."
The Raiders finish their 2025-26 season 13-36.
