The CCC men's soccer team faced off against Mashalltown CC on September 20th, away. A recap of the match is below:
The first 20 minutes of the game were a feeling-out process for both teams, with no goals scored. The Raiders broke the scoreless tie midway through the first period when Kristof Nemeth found the back of the net, assisted by Harvey Brook and Luca Reicher. Shortly after, Harvey Brook scored his own goal, with an assist from Leo Morley-Robertson, extending the lead to 2-0. Just before halftime, a careless error allowed Marshalltown to get on the board, making the score 2-1 at the break. However, this momentary lull for the Raiders didn't last long. Kristof Nemeth scored his second goal of the day in the second period, assisted by Carlos Colina and Leo Morley-Robertson. Both teams managed to score one more goal late in the game, but it was not enough for Marshalltown to close the gap. The Raiders held on for the 4-2 win.
CCC men's soccer moves to 5-3-1 and are in action next on Sept. 24th vs Iowa Lakes in Columbus.
