Britt Blackwell is in his fourth year as head golf coach for Central Community College. He was named as Region IX Coach of the Year for 2017-18. The golf team participates in 16 competitions during the year including the Nebraska Intercollegiate held annually in the Fall.
In addition to his coaching duties, Blackwell is a faculty member whose responsibilities include teaching business administration and accounting courses and provide academic advising to students. He works closely with the athletic department to market and promote Raider activities in both athletics and academics. He actively recruits in Nebraska to attract the best student athletes. He also holds a junior golf camp during the summer and actively participates in the local “Go Play” golf event designed to introduce youngsters to the game of golf.
Blackwell is a member of Pawnee Hills Golf Club in Fullerton and is a two-time club champion. He is also a member the Elks Country Club in Columbus, where he works closely with assistant head golf pro Derrick Benson who is also the Raiders Assistant Coach. Elks Country Club provides a wonderful location for the Raiders to practice and to host competitions with other college golf teams.
Originally from the small west Texas town of Spur, Blackwell received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and graduate degree in business administration from Arizona State University.
