Men's Basketball: Kirkwood Gets One Back on the Raiders
The Central Community College men's basketball team hosted #14 Kirkwood CC at home, on Saturday, January 31st. A recap of the match is below:
Central Community College found themselves in a tough battle on Saturday, ultimately falling 88–67 to a sharpshooting Kirkwood Community College squad. While the Raiders kept things competitive in the first half trailing by only eight, Kirkwood's offensive efficiency—shooting over 52% from the floor—proved too much to overcome in the final 20 minutes.
Despite the loss, the Raiders saw consistent production from their backcourt. Nino Nesbitt led the way with 16 points and four rebounds, showcasing his range by hitting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Brandon Jarmon and Merkv Torrance added 13 points apiece. On the glass, Keme Jones battled hard to pull down a team-high 8 rebounds, while Nevaeh Hawkins provided a spark in the paint with 8 points and 5 boards. Central's 40.9% clip from three-point range was a bright spot, but Kirkwood's ball movement and 21 assists made the difference in this conference matchup.
Raiders move to 9-15 and are in action next at Southwestern CC on February 4th.
