Men’s Basketball: Raiders Bust Broncos
The Raiders scored 53 second-half points en route to a 95-78 victory over Hastings College JV on Wednesday in Hastings.
The first half was close throughout as CCC went to the locker room with a 42-40 halftime lead. The Raiders responded quickly as they built a double-digit lead early in the second half and held on for their first win since Nov. 27.
"Overall, I'm really that happy we got the win," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "I thought we played a lot harder in the second half. It seemed to take us about 20 minutes to get into the swing of things. Any win you can get, you take it and get out."
Five CCC players scored in double figures with Tredyn Prososki leading the charge with 18 points while Kevin Cook finished with 16 points. Dwight Glover Jr. tallied 14 points while Caleb Muia and Emarr Vinson each made 13 points.
"I thought Emarr was really good today," said Ritzdorf. "His effort was very obvious, and I think he got us through a tough stretch during the first half, especially protecting the rim and getting rebounds. Tredyn obviously got hot in the second half hitting shots."
The win snapped a four-game losing streak and gives CCC a 9-5 record.
The Raiders get right back to action with a Thursday night home contest against Concordia University JV. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at the Raider Fieldhouse.
