Volleyball: Four Raiders Named All-Regional
Four members of the Central Community College volleyball have been named to the Region 9 All-Regional team.
Ashley Brown, Chloe Odbert, Emily Otten and Rachel Otten earned the honors following CCC's victory over top-seed North Platte Community College in the Region 9 championship match on Oct. 30.
"I am really happy for the players who were selected for the All-Regional team," said CCC head coach Mary Young. "Anytime individuals are chosen for honors, it is a tribute to our team and ability to work together toward a common goal."
Brown, a freshman from Elm Creek, played in 39 matches and led Raiders in kills and digs with 384 and 378, respectively. She also sported a .131 hitting percentage.
Odbert, a freshman from Columbus, played in 39 matches and led CCC with 673 digs.
Emily Otten, a sophomore from Omaha, played in 35 matches and was second on the team in kills and digs with 311 and 366, respectively. She also made 40 blocks.
Rachel Otten, a sophomore from Pilger, played in 39 matches and led Raiders in blocks with 137. She was third in kills with 277 and recorded 78 digs.
"We don't land four players on the All-Regional team without wining the Region 9 championship and it is such a tribute to all of our players and teammates," said Young. "I am so proud of all of them."
