Volleyball: Raiders Snap Extended Slide
The Central Community College volleyball team snapped a six-match losing streak with a 3-0 win over North Platte Community College on Tuesday night at the Raider Fieldhouse. The final scores were 25-21, 25-11 and 25-23.
Ashley Brown and Emily Otten led CCC in kills with 11 and nine, respectively. Kamryn Chohon totaled 30 assists, while Chloe Odbert finished with 13 digs. Rachel Otten recorded a pair of solo blocks and three assisted blocks.
"We played good energy and confidence throughout the entire match," said CCC head coach Mary Young. "Despite having 11 service errors, our serving was key to getting North Platte out of system, which allowed us to control the flow of the game. We played with good patience and trust in our team defense and that enabled us to frustrate North Platte."
Up next, the 9-14 Raiders will host the Ramada Inn Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Raider Fieldhouse. CCC will take on Marshalltown (Iowa) Community College on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. meeting with Neosho County (Kan.) Community College. On Saturday, the Raiders will battle Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College at 1 p.m.
