The Central Community College women's soccer team lost to Western Nebraska Community College, 4-1, at Raider Field on Friday.
WNCC's Izzy Wright scored the lone goal of the first have with just over a minute to play on a penalty kick to give the Cougars a 1-0 advantage.
The Raiders evened the score, 1-1, in the 65th minute as Rylee Eschliman found the back of the net off the assist of Hannah Beach. The Cougars then rattled off three goals in a span of just over seven and a half minutes to take the 4-1 win.
Afterward, CCC head coach Jamie Bennett praised his team for playing tough in spite of only having 12 players in uniform.
"Seventy minutes into the game and the score was 1-1 against that quality of a team, I can't complain at all," said Bennett. "I was happy with the effort."
With the loss, the Raiders drop to 0-1-1 on the season.
Up next, the Raiders will travel to Northeast Community College on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. contest.
