Women's Basketball: Raiders Fall on the Road to NIACC
The Central Community College women's basketball team headed to NIACC on Saturday, February 14th. A recap of the match is below:
Despite a determined road effort, the Central Community College Raiders fell to a high-powered North Iowa Area Community College squad 86–61. Lexi Fiscus continued her consistent season, leading the Raiders with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. The Raiders also received a massive boost from the bench, as Delaney Reeg matched the team-high with 16 points and added three assists. Jayla Merrill finished just shy of a double-double with 12 points and 9 boards. While Central showed great grit on the glass with 40 total rebounds and maintained a solid 76.9% efficiency from the stripe, a challenging first half and 28 turnovers proved too much to overcome against the Trojans' transition offense.
Raiders move to 7-18 and are in action next at Central CC vs. Iowa Central CC February 18th.
