The Central Community College women's basketball team fought hard but ultimately fell to Iowa Lakes Community College, 84-74, in a home game on Tuesday, November 25.
The Raiders started strong, taking a 20-17 lead in the first quarter, but a surge by Iowa Lakes in the second period gave the visitors a 39-34 advantage at halftime. Despite a strong push in the third quarter where Central trimmed the deficit, Iowa Lakes pulled away with a decisive 27-17 final quarter. The Raiders were highly effective at the free-throw line, hitting 30-of-38 attempts (78.9%), but were hampered by a low field goal percentage (31.1%) and 24 turnovers. Lexi Fiscus led the scoring effort with 24 points and secured a double-double with 12 rebounds.
The women's basketball team moves to 4-5 and will be in action next after Thanksgiving at DMACC on December 3rd.
