The Central Community College women's basketball team lost at North Platte Community College, 69-62, on Saturday Afternoon.
The Raiders took the opening quarter, 12-11, before the Knights took command in the second quarter with a 22-14 performance to lead at the half, 33-26. North Platte bested CCC in the third quarter, 24-13, before the Raiders made a comeback. In the final stanza, the Raiders outscored the Knights, 23-13, but time ran out at North Platte held on for the seven-point victory.
Nikie Nelson led the Raiders with a double-double consisting of 25 points and a dozen rebounds. Desiray Diaz added 14 points while Aubry Saleapaga finished with 10 points.
The loss gives the Raiders a 4-22 season record heading into Tuesday clash at Northeast Community College. CCC will look to avenge a 79-61 loss to the Hawks in November. Tuesday's tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Cox Activities Center.
