The Central Community College women's basketball team defeated North Platte Community College, 57-50, on Friday night at the Raider Fieldhouse.
The Raiders stepped up on defense in the second and fourth quarters by holding the Knights to six and eight points, respectively. CCC outrebounded North Platte, 39-28, a dozen of which were offensive. Madisen Jelinek and Nikie Nelson each recorded identical double-doubles with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
"We really struggled the first half with executing our offense and getting organized," said CCC head coach Kasi Stoltz. "But I thought we made some changes at halftime in our offense that helped us get the ball inside to Madi a little bit more and she converted those baskets. Our zone really stopped their drives to the basket for the most part and then we really rebounded well out of it."
The 14-12 Raiders will be back in action on Monday night when they host McCook Community College at the Raider Fieldhouse at 5:30 p.m. CCC will look to avenge a 67-61 loss at McCook on Nov. 22.
