Women’s Basketball: Raiders Snap Losing Skid
The Central Community College women's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 65-60 win over Midland University JV on Monday night in Fremont.
The Raiders had the advantage at halftime, 29-26. The contest remained close in the second half as the teams were deadlocked after three quarters, 43-43. The Raiders pulled away with a late run in the fourth quarter to take the five-point victory.
"I was proud of the girls' effort," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "It was a tough win on the road and they never gave up."
Nyamiri Blair scored a season high 22 points while Amy Mitchell tallied 11 points. Madisen Jelinek (pictured left) rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points. Jelinek and Macey Thege each hauled in seven rebounds.
With the win, the Raiders are 7-9 on the season.
