The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to Concordia University JV, 69-60, on Tuesday night at the Raider Fieldhouse.
The Raiders held a 22-7 lead at the end of the first period, before the Bulldogs returned the favor with a 23-6 performance in the second quarter to lead 30-29 at the half.
Concordia took control in the third period by outscoring Central, 20-13. In the final stanza, the Raiders rattled off a 14-5 run to pull to within one point, 56-55, with just under five minutes to play. However, the Bulldogs responded with their own 14-5 run to post the 69-60 win.
Brittney Veik led three CCC players in double figures with 22 points. Bailey Lehr (pictured center) logged a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Allanah Beller (pictured right) scored 11 points. Macey Thege hauled in 10 rebounds.
"This was a tough loss," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We had our chances, but after our big lead, we kind of relaxed and could never get it going again."
The loss gives CCC a 3-8 record.
Up next, the Raiders will travel to North Central Missouri College on Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest.
