Women’s Basketball: Raiders Defeat Warriors
The Central Community College women's basketball team bested the Midland University JV, 79-70, in Fremont on Tuesday night.
The Raiders led 45-37 at the half and went on to build an 18-point lead in the second half. However, the Warriors went to work and whittled the lead down to three points before CCC was able to hang on for the win.
Macey Thege recorded a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Bailey Keller finished with 18 points. Brittney Veik logged 14 points and seven assists, while Nyamiri Blair tallied a dozen points and nine rebounds.
"Great effort by our team tonight," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We started off slow, but we did a good job pushing the ball and getting some easy baskets in transition."
The win gives the Raiders a record of 3-4.
