The Central Community College women's basketball team lost at North Platte Community College, 81-77, on Friday night.
The Raiders fell behind early and trailed 26-16 at the end of the first quarter. The Knights extended their lead with a 47-30 halftime advantage. CCC got a spark in the third quarter and pulled to within nine points at the end of the period, 54-43. The Raiders kept chipping away in the final stanza and pulled to within four with about three minutes remaining. However, that as close as it would get as the Knights recorded the four-point win.
"We started off slow on defense in the first quarter," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We gave it a good fight and had a shot to win."
The loss gives the Raiders an 0-2 mark.
