The Central Community College softball team faced off with Iowa Lakes CC for a doubleheader in Estherville, IA, April 22nd. A recap of the doubleheader is below:
Game 1: Iowa Lakes- 6 Central- 2
Central Community College fell 6-2 to Iowa Lakes after the Lakers used back-to-back three-run innings to pull away. Hannah Dahlke led the Raiders' offense, driving in a run and reaching base twice, while Logan Rainforth provided a spark on the basepaths with two stolen bases. On the mound, Lextyn Harker started and got tagged with the L, as Callen Heule delivered a strong relief appearance, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and allowing zero hits.
Game 2: Iowa Lakes- 9 Central- 3
Despite out-hitting Iowa Lakes 9-11, CCC dropped the second game 9-3 following a decisive seven-run outburst by the Lakers in the fifth. Danica Taylor anchored the lineup with two hits and an RBI, while Hannah Dahlke and Kami Kaskie each added two-hit performances of their own. Callen Heule started on the mound and was tagged with the L in this one.
Raiders move to 13-34 and are in action next April 24th vs DMACC at DMACC.
