Softball: Central Softball Signs Eight 25' Freshman
Central Community College Softball will add eight 2025 graduates to the 2025-2026 Roster.
Lextyn Harker is a left-handed pitcher and utility player from Nebraska City. As a senior Lextyn posted a 14-1 record on the mound with a 4.3 ERA and offensively batted a .400. Throughout high school she was a 3-year All Conference and All-Academic nominee, and a 2-year Honorable Mention nominee. Lextyn also was on the girls wrestling team in high school.
Callen Heule is a right-handed pitcher and utility player from Columbus High. She was a three-year starter, letter winner and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention as a junior and senior. Callen, being one of two pitchers during her junior and senior year, forced her to pitch through a lot of adversity and ended her two seasons with an ERA of 6. Callen also earned Academic All-Conference all four years. Outside of softball, Callen also competed in soccer.
Logan Rainforth is a right-handed pitcher and utility player from Doniphan High School and played at Grand Island Central Catholic High School for softball. As a senior Logan hit .430 at the plate and had an ERA of 4.7. Throughout high school, she was a two-year 1st Team All-Conference nominee, and a two-year Honorable Mention nominee for the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star. Logan also was on the girls' basketball and track team in high school.
Head coach Caitlin Simon said, "Lextyn, Callen, and Logan have the opportunity to make an immediate impact as freshmen for our pitching staff. We are excited for the depth they will provide for our team both on the mound and as utility players. On top of their potential on the field they all will bring a positive energy that will make others love playing behind them."
Kayla Fox is a catcher and infielder from Ankeny, Iowa who competed at the highest classification in Iowa (5A). Throughout high school she was a part of two State Tournament appearances. Kayla is a 3-year letter winner in softball and competed in Track & Field throughout high school. "Kayla comes from a very competitive high school program. Her work ethic will be contagious here at CCC and we are excited to get her to campus," Caitlin Simon said.
Kylee Kirby is a catcher and infielder from Lincoln Southeast High School. While in high school she competed in two years of football, two years of softball, three years of basketball, and four years of track and field. During her two seasons of softball, she was a letter winner and received the Black and Gold Award her senior year that's represents an all-around good teammate and player. Kylee also finished her track career with a runner up finish at State in the shotput. Caitlin Simon says, "As you can see, Kylee has done it all! We are excited to bring in a player that has competed in so many different sports at a class A level."
Kennedy Koch is an outfielder from Harrisburg, South Dakota. Outside Kennedy's two years of high school softball and track, club softball was her focus throughout high school. This previous season of club ball she hit a .515 at the plate with a .988 fielding percentage. "Kennedy's passion for softball is something that will help her succeed. I know she will come in with a great work ethic that will push everyone around her," Said Simon.
Bella Larsen is an outfielder from Columbus High School. As a senior Bella had a standout season hitting .411 from the plate as the starting centerfielder. She also collected the 2025 Offensive Player of the Year for Columbus High and was on the All-Conference Team. She was a three-year letter winner and academic all-state for softball as well. Outside of softball, Bella competed all four years in track and on the dance team. "The way Bella communicated on the field was something that stood out the most to me during the recruitment process. I know were getting a good person both on and off the field," Simon said.
Mariah Andersen is an outfielder from Wisner Pilger High School and played softball for NEN Vipers. She was a three-year letter winner for softball and as a senior Mariah hit a .235. She also competed in speech, one acts, FFA, and trap shooting in high school. Simon says, "We're excited to add someone to the program that is a great teammate and will bring a good work ethic both on and off the field."
