The Central Community College softball team won both games of a double-header with the Hastings College JV at Raider Field on Thursday. A recap of both games is below. The Raiders are 11-13 on the season and will host a double header with McCook Community College on Tuesday. Game times are 1 and 3 p.m.
Game 1: Central Community College 9 Hastings College JV 5
The Raiders scored six runs over the fifth and sixth innings and went on to post a 9-5 victory. Andrea Fernandez recorded a homerun and RBI while Kinlsey Wimer logged a double and an RBI. Kailee Pollard pitched all seven innings and struck out five Hastings batters en route to the win.
Game 2: Central Community College 16 Hastings College JV 3
The Raiders exploded with 13 runs in the bottom of the second inning and held the Broncos to a single run the rest of the way in a 13-3 win. Wimer recorded three hits in the contest, one of which was a homerun. Six other CCC batters tallied two hits apiece. Payten Gibson pitched three innings to get the win while Jada Berry pitched two innings.
