The CCC men's soccer team faced off with Northeastern Junior College in a home match yesterday evening. A recap of the match is below:
Central and NJC were treated to a very nice 76 degree day on Tuesday afternoon. This one started with a very even first 10 minutes, with both teams getting good stops and good offensive runs. In the 23rd minute CCC was able to open up the scoring with a goal from Anton Todling (assisted by Luke Edmondson & Rodrigo Gete.) The rest of the half was filled with offensive runs by Central, the Raiders were just unable to get it into the back of the goal, ending the first half 1-0 CCC. The second half was a different game with CCC pounding the Plainsmen's goal with shots. These Shots lead to 4 goals in the second half scored by: Juan Lopez (assisted by Kristof Nemeth), Carlos Colina (assisted by Leo Morley-Robertson), Morley-Robertson (assisted by Nemeth & Harvey Brook), and Nemeth (assisted by Marlon Reichelt & Todling.) NJC had no answer for the potent offense and steel curtain defense of the Raiders, proving too much, giving Central the 5-0 win.
CCC men's soccer moves to 2-0 and are in action next on August 29th, at 2pm at Dakota County Technical College.
