Men's Basketball: Raiders Take the Trojans to OT
The Central Community College men's basketball team headed to NIACC on Saturday, February 14th. A recap of the match is below:
The Raiders faced a Valentine's Day heartbreaker on the road, falling to North Iowa Area Community College 82–74 in a tightly contested overtime battle. Central Community College controlled the first half, heading into the locker room with a 32–29 lead, but a back-and-forth second half led to a deadlock at the end of regulation. In the extra period, the Trojans managed a 16–8 run to pull away. Tee Liban led all scorers with 24 points and five rebounds, while Brandon Jarmon provided a critical lift off the bench with 15 points. Though the Raiders shot a respectable 35.5% from deep and kept the turnovers low, NIACC's 42–33 rebounding advantage and efficient overtime scoring proved to be the difference.
Raiders move to 10-18 and are in action next vs Iowa Central on February 18th at home.
