The Central Community College men's basketball team headed to Northeast Community College on Wednesday, February 11th. A recap of the match is below:
In an overtime thriller against rival Northeast Community College, the Central Community College Raiders fought to the final whistle before falling 80–76. Central set the pace early, heading into the locker room with a 37–33 halftime lead, but a back-and-forth second half forced the extra period where the Spartans eventually pulled away. Nino Nesbitt turned in a gritty performance, playing 42 minutes and leading the team with 18 points and three steals. The Raiders' bench provided a significant spark, led by Merkv Torrance's 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Brandon Jarmon's 11 points. Mo Abdalla also added 13 points to the effort, while Brody Johnson had a team-high 9 rebounds.
Raiders move to 10-17 and are in action next at NIACC on February 14th.
