The Central Community College men's basketball team hosted #9 Johnson County CC at home on November 4th. This was men's basketball's first home game of the season. A recap of the game is below:
The Central Community College Raiders took on a formidable opponent last night at home, November 4, hosting the undefeated #9 Johnson County Community College Cavaliers (4-0). The team came out strong, playing the first half very even. The first half was an exciting, back-and-forth contest, with the Raiders keeping the deficit manageable, heading into the break down just seven points at 48-41. In the second half the Raiders were unable to get their footing and ultimately fell 91-76. Merkv Torrence led the Raiders in points and assists with 19 points and 3 assists. Brody Johnson led the charge on the glass with a 14 rebound 11 point double double.
Men's Basketball moves to 1-1 and are in action next at the Great Western Classic this weekend vs Marshalltown CC and North Central Missouri College.
