Men's Basketball: Raiders Give Doane JV a Halloween Nightmare in Season Opener
The Central Community College men's basketball team kicked off their season in spectacular fashion on Halloween night, delivering a convincing 100-69 victory over the Doane University JV squad in front of a spirited home crowd in Columbus, NE.
The atmosphere was electric for the season opener, and the Raiders fed off the energy, immediately asserting their dominance with a high-powered offense. Central led 50-29 at the half, showcasing their ability to score inside and out. They continued their relentless attack in the second half, matching their first-half output with another 50 points to seal the 100-69 final score. This win puts the Raiders at (1-0) to start the year. Mo Abdalla led all scorers with 32 points, Brody Johnson delivered a monstrous effort on the boards, securing a double-double with 20 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Keme Jones was highly effective, adding 16 points on 8-of-13 shooting, and Merkv Torrance set the tone on offense, dishing out a team-high 10 assists, while grabbing 8 rebounds.
Men's Basketball moves to 1-0 and are in action next Johnson County CC at the Raider field house on November 4th at 7:30pm.
