The Central Community men's basketball team notched its sixth win of the season last night in Columbus with a 70-43 triumph over the Concordia University JV.
In the first half, the Raiders and Bulldogs played very evenly, with CCC holding a 22-17 point lead at half, its lowest scoring half of the season. CCC clamped down on defense midway through the second half, holding Concordia scoreless for nearly eight minutes. During that stretch, the Raiders scored 23 points.
Kazadi Mukoma Jr. was CCC's scoring and rebounding leader with with 16 points and six boards. Also scoring in double figures was Kamron Kasischke (12) and Kei'Marion Smith (11). The team assist leader was Carson Starns with five while freshman Merkv Torrance grabbed five steals.
The Raiders are now 6-8 and are off until Jan. 3 when they host Anoka-Ramsey Community College at the Raider Fieldhouse.
