ESports: Season Updates in COD Warzone and Rocket League
Central Community College ESports team has been completing in the D! NJCAA Playoffs in both Rockey League and Call of Duty Warzone, and here is an update on both of those seasons:
Rocket League
The CCC Rocket League team entered the Regional Tournament as the #4 seed with the clear goal of securing a top-three finish to earn a bid to Nationals. Unfortunately, the team fell just short of their objective. After tough losses to competitors Columbia Basin and Laramie County, the Raiders concluded their regional campaign in 4th place. While the season ended shy of a national berth, the team showed consistent skill and competitive spirit throughout their regional matches.
Call of Duty: Warzone
The CoD: Warzone squad began their regional playoff run last Friday with a crucial match against #4 Iowa Western Community College (IWCC). Similar to the Rocket League team, the goal remains a top-three placement to qualify for the National Tournament. Regrettably, IWCC bested the Panthers in the series, winning 2-0. The team now moves to a pivotal 3rd Place Match scheduled for later this week (likely Thursday). This match represents the final opportunity for the CoD: Warzone team to clinch a National Tournament berth.
