Women’s Basketball: CCC Loses At NJC
The Central Community College women's basketball team lost at Northeastern Junior College, 94-47, on Thursday in Sterling, Colo.
The Plainswomen outscored the Raiders in the first quarter, 17-9, and went on to lead 43-24 at the half. Central scored 20 seconds into the third quarter and went on scoreless over the next 7:25. NJC led 67-33 at the end of the third quarter. The Raiders were able to cut the deficit to 19 over the first two and a half minutes of the fourth period. However, that is as close as Central would get as the Plainswomen built the 37-point final margin.
"We just could not get anything going on the offensive or defensive end," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins.
With the loss, the Raiders have now lost nine in a row and have a record of 3-13.
Central will return to the Raider Fieldhouse on Monday to host North Central Missouri College. The Tigers defeated the Raiders, 79-55, on Jan. 20. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
